What a configuration really holds

At heart, a configuration is an encrypted package of Xray-core parameters: the server address, the protocol, the port, and the keys required for a secure connection. The Happ app parses this data and constructs a tunnel that bypasses restrictions on your device. Without a valid configuration there's no connection, which is why it pays to obtain one only from the service Telegram bot rather than from some random link on the web.

Single config versus subscription link

There are two routes for adding access to Happ:

• Single config — a fixed set of parameters bound to one specific server, with no automatic updates.
• Subscription link — groups several servers together and refreshes on its own, so the app doesn't require manual edits to pull in new addresses.

For day-to-day use, a subscription link tends to be the handier option: it demands less manual upkeep and makes switching servers simpler if one of them stops reaching the sites you need.

Adding a configuration to the app

Keys and links are issued by the Happ Telegram bot. From there you copy them into the app, usually by importing the link or scanning a QR code depending on the platform. Step-by-step directions for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and Smart TV are at /en/setup/.

Where keys are issued and kept

When to change configurations

When a server slows down or drops the connection, moving to a different configuration within the same subscription link is generally faster than trying to fix one fixed config. Look through the available servers and selection tips at /en/servers/.
