Setting Up Happ VPN: From Install to Your First Connection
Getting Happ to begin unblocking sites and quietly running in the background comes down to four simple steps: download the client, obtain a key, add it in the app, and choose a server. All of it wraps up in just a few minutes.
Step 1. Download and Install the Client
The Happ client is powered by Xray-core and works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and Smart TV — pick up the build that matches your system.
- Go to the Happ download page and locate your platform
- Install it exactly as you would any other app on your device
- The first time it opens, you'll see a start screen inviting you to add a key
Step 2. Obtain an Access Key
Without a key the app will install but won't unblock a single site — keys and subscription links are issued only by the service Telegram bot.
- Launch the bot using the link on the Happ Telegram bot page
- The free access page explains the 3-day trial, while paid options are listed on the pricing page
- Copy the entire key text or link you receive
Step 3. Add the Key in the App
The screen for entering a key normally appears right after Happ opens for the first time.
- Paste the copied link or key into the field shown
- Allow the app a moment to fetch the server list
- The add is confirmed successful once at least one server appears in the list
If anything goes wrong, check the detailed guide at how to add a key in Happ.
Step 4. Connect to a Server
The server you choose has a direct effect on how quickly blocked sites and services load, so trying a few is worthwhile.
- Browse the locations on the Happ servers page
- Hit connect beside the server you selected
- In a couple of seconds the status turns to connected and blocked resources become available
If the Connection Fails Right Away
A minor glitch during the first setup is normal and hardly ever calls for a reinstall.
- Confirm the internet works without Happ by opening any site directly
- Switch to another server from the list
- Make sure your key hasn't expired, and ask the bot for a new one if it has
The usual causes are explained on the Happ not connecting page.
